Yes, the lock mechanism works smoothly but I originally had a problem with the locking system intermittently not locking the drivers door. Once I turned off the the automatic locking in the convenience group (The one that automatically locks the doors over 7 miles per hour) I was able to lock my drivers door via remote with no problems.
Skoda Octavia Mk 3 will not start. Going down the M69 all the warning lights on the dash came on, but the car kept going fine. After 20s dash went back to normal. After another couple of minutes I lost everything on the dash including the speedo & rev counter. After 20s dash went back to normal. No problems then for 10days (including a wkd in
Check the lamps work separately as reading lamps, when the doors are closed, by working the individual switches. Yeah, the work as a courtesy light when the switch is moved to the on position both when the engine is on and off. The lights also work separately as reading lights too.
I took out alarm fuse but this didn't help and neither did button in door pillars that only suppresses ultrasound. Trick to leave car locked but not alarmed: Leave ignition on. Lower drivers door window. Get out, close door. Lean in & press centre Lock button. Turn ignition off, and TAKE KEY OUT.

Check your car setup. Read the manual on MAXI DOT and look for Main Menu > Settings > Comfort > Central Locking. Within the Comfort menu you can also reset to factory which should set central locking to automatic. I hope this helps.
When in the gear selector is in park a cable pulls a 'Paw' within the gear box which locks the transmission. The transmission lock isn't meant to replace the handbrake but my understand it's still a very robust mechanism to stop the car rolling if the handbrake fails.
